Our dear friend and  Master Trainer,  Pat Lawson, will be coming on March 31, April 1 and 2 to teach Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis program.  Pat is the past President of the Tai Chi for Health Community, a non-profit USA organization seeking to improve the quality of people's lives through Tai Chi for Health programs. She also holds a second degree black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu, spent a summer semester training at the Shaolin monastery in Henan, China, and is the former owner/chief instructor of the school of Chinese Martial Arts in Stuart, Florida. Pat is a joyful teacher whose humor and competence blend to create a magical experience for her students.

Tai Chi is becoming very popular around the world for health improvement, and for good reasons. Scientific studies show that tai chi improves and possibly prevents chronic conditions such as arthritis,
chronic pain and diabetes. There are many forms of tai chi but specially designed programs for health
have many advantages.

Tai Chi for ArthritisSince 1997, Dr Paul Lam has worked with tai chi and medical experts to create a series of Tai Chi for Health programs that are easy and enjoyable to learn and, at the same time, deliver significant health benefits. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life. Arthritis organizations around the world support the program.

This program is suitable for total beginners; but can be taken as a teacher training for those who wish to share their love of Tai Chi with friends, family or community.  A teacher certificate for this form will be awarded upon completion of this program for those who qualify.

Post-workshop session: Susan Hamadock will be offering an additional training day on April 3rd to compliment Pat’s program for teachers of Tai Chi.  Included in this post workshop follow-up will be teaching methodology, learning styles and Qigong and readings for Tai Chi teachers.
